Guides for every part of PestMetry.

Getting Started

Set up your workspace, invite your team, and complete onboarding.

Article

Creating your PestMetry account

Sign up at the sign-in page using your work email or Google account. On first sign-in you will be guided through a short onboarding flow that captures your company name, timezone, and role. You can revisit these details anytime from Company → Settings.

Article

Completing the Getting Started checklist

The Getting Started tab in the sidebar walks you through the highest-value setup steps: create your first facility, upload a blueprint, add pick slots or key locations, invite teammates, and log a sample work order. Green pulse indicators highlight tasks that still need attention.

Article

Inviting teammates and assigning roles

Open Company → Users to invite teammates by email. Each user is assigned a role that controls what they can see and edit. Roles include Admin, Manager, Technician, and Viewer. Roles are managed centrally so permissions stay consistent across facilities.

Article

Exploring with sample data and the practice map

New workspaces can load a fully populated sample dataset from the Getting Started page. You can reset it at any time. The Practice Map lets you experiment with mapping tools on a demo blueprint before touching your real facility data.

Facility Mapping & Blueprints

Digitize blueprints, place slots, and build interactive maps.

Article

Uploading and digitizing a blueprint

Go to Mapping → your facility → Blueprint to upload a PDF, PNG, or JPG. PestMetry cleans and enhances the image for use as an interactive map. If you have a low-quality scan, use the Digitization queue to request a professionally cleaned version.

Article

Placing pick slots, zones, and locations

In the Locations editor, use the drawing tools to add pick slots, aisles, rooms, docks, and custom zones. Slots snap to the underlying grid and can be numbered in bulk. Each location can carry attributes such as product category, temperature zone, or risk level.

Article

Editing, moving, and deleting locations

Select any location on the map to edit its label, category, or notes. Multi-select with shift-click to move or delete in bulk. Deleted locations are preserved in history so associated work orders and incidents remain intact.

Article

Using the time scrubber and historical view

The time scrubber above the map lets you rewind and replay activity across any date range. This reveals recurring hot spots, seasonal patterns, and the effect of sanitation or exclusion work over time.

Work Orders

Create, assign, and verify corrective actions.

Article

Creating a work order

From the Work Orders tab or directly from a pest incident, click New Work Order. Attach one or more mapped locations, set a due date, priority, and assignee. Photos, notes, and checklists can be added on the fly.

Article

Assigning and reassigning work

Assign work to an individual, a team, or leave it in the shared queue. Reassign at any time from the work order detail dialog. Assignees receive an in-app notification and, if enabled, an email.

Article

Completing and verifying work

Technicians mark a work order complete with a summary, photos, and optional verification notes. Managers can require verification before a work order is fully closed, which enforces accountability on high-risk corrective actions.

Article

Recurring work orders

For repeating tasks such as monthly bait station checks or quarterly deep cleans, set a recurrence pattern when creating the work order. PestMetry will automatically generate the next instance on schedule.

Pest Incidents

Log sightings, evidence, and resolutions with full history.

Article

Logging a pest incident

Open Pest → New Incident. Capture the pest type, activity level, evidence, damage, and one or more affected locations. Attach photos directly from your mobile device. Incidents can be linked to a corrective work order in a single step.

Article

Resolving an incident

When the situation is controlled, open the incident and use Resolve. Record the resolution method, verification date, and any follow-up monitoring. Resolved incidents remain fully searchable in trend and criticals reports.

Article

Understanding trend analysis

The Pest dashboard visualizes incidents by pest type, location, severity, and time. Use filters to compare periods, facilities, or zones. Emerging hot spots surface as concentrated activity in the map overlay.

Sanitation & Inspections

Schedule cleanings, run inspections, and track completion.

Article

Scheduling cleanings and inspections

Use the Sanitation calendar to schedule cleanings, inspections, and recurring routines. Assign to individuals or teams and attach a checklist template so field crews always know the expected scope.

Article

Recording completed cleanings

Field users record completed cleanings with time on task, chemicals used, photos, and any exceptions. Completed activities appear on the facility map so managers can see coverage at a glance.

Article

Correlating sanitation with pest pressure

PestMetry overlays sanitation activity and pest incidents on the same map and timeline. This makes it easy to see whether increased cleaning frequency reduces incidents in a specific zone.

Reports & Audit Preparation

Generate structured reports and schedule automated delivery.

Article

Building a report

Go to Reports → New Report. Choose a template such as Pest Trend Summary, Sanitation Coverage, or Corrective Action Log. Filter by date range, facility, and location, then export to PDF or CSV.

Article

Scheduling reports by email

Open Reports → Schedules to send any report on a recurring cadence. Add internal stakeholders or external auditors as recipients. Schedules respect user permissions and expire on the date you specify.

Article

Preparing for a food safety audit

Use the Compliance report template for a bundled export of incidents, work orders, sanitation activity, and device service history for the audit window. Include photos and verification notes as evidence.

Team & Permissions

Manage users, roles, and facility-level access.

Article

Roles and what they can do

Admins manage billing, users, and workspace settings. Managers configure facilities and approve work. Technicians create and complete work orders and incidents. Viewers have read-only access. Role capabilities are enforced on the server as well as the UI.

Article

Creating and managing teams

Under Company → Teams, group users into teams that align with your operational structure — for example Sanitation Crew, Pest Control, or Night Shift. Work orders can be assigned to a team rather than an individual.

Article

Removing or deactivating a user

Deactivate users to revoke access while preserving their historical activity. Deactivated users can be reactivated at any time. Removing a user permanently deletes their profile but keeps their contributions attributed.

Account, Security & SSO

Sign-in, passwords, two-factor, and single sign-on.

Article

Resetting your password

Click Forgot password on the sign-in screen and follow the reset link sent to your email. Reset links expire after a short period for security. If the link expires, request a new one.

Article

Signing in with Google

PestMetry supports Google sign-in out of the box. Choose Continue with Google on the sign-in screen. Your Google account must use the same email as your PestMetry profile to link automatically.

Article

Enterprise SSO (SAML 2.0)

Google sign-in is available to every workspace. Enterprise admins can configure SAML 2.0 single sign-on under Company → SSO with identity providers such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, and Google Workspace. SAML setup is assisted by our team — email support@pestmetry.com to get started.

Billing & Subscription

Plans, invoices, seats, and upgrades.

Article

Changing your plan

Go to Billing to view your current plan and change tiers. Upgrades are prorated and take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Article

Adding or removing seats

Seats are managed automatically as you invite or deactivate users. If your plan has a seat cap, you will be prompted to upgrade before exceeding it.

Article

Invoices and payment methods

Download invoices and update your payment method from Billing. Enterprise customers can request annual invoicing and purchase orders by contacting support@pestmetry.com.

Security & Privacy

Data handling, access control, and privacy documentation.

Article

Where is my data stored?

PestMetry runs on managed cloud infrastructure. All traffic to the application and its APIs is served over HTTPS/TLS, and data is isolated per organization using database row-level security. See our Subprocessors page for the full list of providers and where they operate.

Article

Exporting or deleting your data

You can export your data at any time from Reports and from the workspace-level export tools. To request a full account deletion, email support@pestmetry.com from an admin address on your account.

Reporting a security concern

If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, please email support@pestmetry.com with details. We take every report seriously and will respond promptly.
